WHAT IS THE WALK-A-THON?
It is the most FUN fundraiser of the year! Students will complete as many laps as possible sponsored by their friends and family. This event offers students an opportunity to engage their community, practice a healthy lifestyle, and show support for their school! In addition, by being active participants in collecting funds for this event, students get to learn what it means to "give back" and lead a life of philanthropy.
Why do we do it?
The Walk-A-Thon is one of CWC's major fundraisers and a fantastic community building event. 100% of every dollar raised through community giving directly supports programs at your child’s school. CWC LA schools are non-profit, public charter schools. The base of our funding comes from the government. Community giving dollars support programs that cannot be funded by government dollars alone, and help us implement the three core pillars of our model:
What's our goal?
Raise $20,000 for much needed funds to support our robust model and retain our amazing CWC teachers and staff.
Students: Contact friends and family to invite them to support you and CWC MV. Then walk, run, dance, and celebrate on the 17th!
Families: Meet or beat your Annual Give donation
School: 100% participation (any sponsorship donation of $1.00 or more counts towards participation)
